Colorado public light display ranks among the best in the US
City squares, parks, and many more public areas light up with festive light displays that spread holiday cheer throughout the season.
USA Today recently released its list of the “brightest and most beautiful holiday light shows put on by neighborhoods, cities, and parks.” One Colorado display was included in the rankings.
Nominated by an expert panel and voted on by readers, USA Today’s 10Best is an award program that highlights the best in destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do.
The Mile High Tree Presented by Xcel Energy & Xfinity in Denver ranked fifth on the list. The lighting of the seven-story, 110-foot-tall tree occurs in downtown Denver. The tree includes 60,000 LED lights for its choreographed light show, and spectators can experience it from both outside or inside the tree’s hollow center. 140 guests can stand inside the tree. The Capitol building also lights up with nightly light shows set to music.
The Bentleyville ‘Tour of Lights’ in Duluth, Minnesota took first place as the best public holiday lights display.
