Kroenke acquires office by its River Mile project 

A historic office building on 1123 Auraria Parkway sold for $5.6 million, according to an announcement Monday from Pinnacle Real Estate Advisors.

The building will be part of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment’s massive River Mile development, the news release said. The River Mile project recently received city approval to rezone about 55 acres of Ball Arena’s parking lots to create a new urban neighborhood extending downtown Denver.

The 21,500-square-foot office building was sold to a newly-formed corporation with the same address as The Kroenke Group, according to state records. Darrin Revious of Pinnacle Real Estate Advisors represented the buyer.

The building is expected to stay as is for the River Mile project with no plans to be torn down, despite not being on an official historic register, Revious told the Denver Gazette over email.

It’s four stories tall and fully leased, the release said.

The seller Ringsby Realty, a Denver-based commercial and industrial real estate brokerage firm, owned the building since 1999.

NFIB has a new Colorado, Wyoming director

The National Federation of Independent Business, or NFIB, has named a new leader to run its Colorado and Wyoming division.

The advocacy organization representing small and independent businesses announced Monday it hired Michael Smith as their NFIB director for the region.

He will be responsible for representing more than 5,700 businesses in Colorado and 1,800 businesses in Wyoming, the release said.

“He understands the important role NFIB plays in ensuring policymakers consider the impact of their decisions on small business owners and promoting policy solutions that will keep both Colorado and Wyoming’s job creators thriving,” said NFIB Regional State Director Dawn McVea in a release.

Smith came from Gainwell Technologies out of Denver where he served as director of state government relations. Before that, he worked as a regional state government relations director at Walgreens.

“Small businesses are the foundation of our economy. As state director, I look forward to promoting the right of our members to own, operate, and grow their businesses,” Smith stated in the announcement.

A dog-lovers co-working space is coming to Denver

An office full of puppies and dogs? A new business plans to offer just that.

HomeDog, a membership-based hub for dog owners, is debuting in Denver early next year, the company announced.

It will open in the Platt Park neighborhood with a dog-friendly co-working space, doggy daycare and a bar and coffee shop, ideal for remote workers looking for a place to work while letting their dogs run around and play with other dogs.

HomeDog will be membership-based starting at $95 a month.

The memberships give unlimited access to the office space, meeting booths, an outdoor patio, and the daycare, according to HomeDog. Dogs will be vetted with temperament tests and vaccine records. Members also get discounts at the bar and coffee shop.

HomeDog was founded by Alex Novick and Johanna Newcomb, both who are remote-workers with dogs, the release said. It’s a brand-new concept opening its first location.
