2 parents killed, 2 children injured in rollover crash in Boulder County

A rollover crash left two parents dead and two children injured in Altona Wednesday morning.
The Colorado State Patrol responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 36 at Lefthand Canyon Drive in Altona, north of Boulder, around 10 a.m., according to a press release from the agency.
Preliminary investigations found that a Jeep heading north on U.S. Highway 36 through the center grass median before rolling and coming to rest in the southbound lanes of the highway, according to the release.
Two adults were killed during the crash and their children — an 11-year-old and a 16-year-old — were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
The highway was initially closed in both directions between Nelson Road and Neva Road. As of 2 p.m., the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 36 remain closed at Lefthand Canyon Drive.
The Boulder County Coroner will release the identity of the victims following investigations.
