Top 5 must-see Colorado Rockies home series | 2025 Rockies preview
The Colorado Rockies open the 2025 MLB season on Friday at the Tampa Bay Rays.
Here is a closer look at their Top 5 must-see home series (in chronological order) at Coors Field.
April 4-6 — Oakland Athletics
No explanation necessary. This marks the first home series at Coors Field when optimism exists for a surprisingly bright future. Opening day is an annual rite of passage for many sports fans in Colorado and maybe the best time to be at Coors Field. The opponent (in this case) is mostly an afterthought.
May 23-25 — New York Yankees
Be prepared for a wave of opposing fans. But it’s rare to watch Yankees slugger Aaron Judge (315 career MLB homers) stare down fastballs at high altitude. The defending World Series losers will be a huge draw at Coors Field. It’s yet to be seen whether the Rockies have enough juice to be competitive.
June 24-26 — Los Angeles Dodgers
Get ready (again) for the Shohei Ohtani show. You can understandably find the Dodgers’ success annoying as the constant NL West frontrunner. But at least appreciate the greatness of a generational MLB talent. Ohtani alone is worth the price of admission.
July 4-6 — Chicago White Sox
Celebrating July 4 at Coors Field should be a bucket list item for baseball lovers everywhere in Colorado. Get there early. Bring a blanket. Be glad the Rockies stand a chance facing a White Sox team that lost 121 games last season. Then an epic fireworks show on Friday and Saturday to cap it off.
July 21-23 — St. Louis Cardinals
It feels like ages have passed since the Nolan Arenado trade in February 2021 that sent the ex-Rockies star to the Cardinals. Arenado has been an All-Star in three of the last four seasons in St. Louis. But the Cardinals haven’t made the postseason in consecutive years.
