Colorado’s ‘most charming’ restaurant is found at 11,966 feet of elevation
In terms of food, it’s hard to beat the thrill of finding a ‘charming’ restaurant that offers up delicious meals with the ambiance to match. Thankfully, the stunning landscape of Colorado seems to cater to that type of restaurant, with many spots around the state able to highlight the local mountainous view as a part of the dining experience.
A recent piece from a publication called LoveFood sought to track down the most ‘charming’ restaurant in every American state, with their Colorado pick being a spot that’s located at close to 12,000 feet of elevation.
Ranking 48th on the list of 50 places around the country was Colorado’s Alpino Vino, found at Telluride Ski Resort. One of the highest restaurants in North America at 11,966 feet above sea level, Alpine Vino specializes in gourmet Italian food that diners can enjoy while gazing at local peaks and forested area.
LoveFood describes Alpino Vino as “full of rustic charm, with a wood-burning fireplace, sheepskin blankets, and an outdoor wine bar,” also noting that the restaurant is accessible by skis or a heated snow coach in the winter.
The spot carries a 4.3-star rating of five on Google Reviews with patrons calling it the best on-mountain restaurant at the resort. Favorite dishes among diners seem to include the tomato soup, house-made pastas, and various paninis.
It is worth mentioning that the Telluride website notes that Alpino Vino is a ‘Winter Only’ restaurant.
LoveFood’s ‘most charming’ restaurant nationwide was deemed to be The Laurel Tree in Utopia, Texas.
