JR Payne completes Colorado women’s basketball staff with Jordynn Hernandez | Colorado Sunshine
Where good news shines
JR Payne has a full staff at Colorado.
Jordynn Hernandez, who spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin, was hired onto the Buffaloes women’s basketball staff as an assistant on Monday, the school said.
“JoJo has quickly built a tremendous reputation as one of the most talented young coaches in the country,” Payne said. “Her passion for recruiting, player development and mentoring student athletes is truly exceptional.”
Stephen F. Austin went 51-21 and advanced to consecutive conference title games in Hernandez’s two seasons. The Ladyjacks beat top-seeded Southeastern Louisiana to win the 2025 Southland tournament and reach the NCAA Tournament.
Hernandez played her college ball at Collin College and UT Arlington.
