Colorado State’s Mya Lesnar wins NCAA title in shot put

Mya Lesnar, the daughter of WWE and UFC star Brock Lesnar, put herself in the Colorado State history books Thursday.
The Colorado State senior won the NCAA Division I shot put title at the NCAA championships in Eugene, Ore. It’s the Rams’ first outdoor title since 2005 when Loree Smith won the hammer throw.
Lesnar and Smith are the only two Colorado State women to win outdoor national titles.
Lesnar is also the first Colorado State athlete to win an outdoor and indoor national title in the school’s history. In 2024, Lesnar won the national title in shot put for indoor track and field and competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she finished in sixth place.
Lesnar put together a spectacular performance with her top throw totaling 62 feet, 4.5 inches, to secure the victory over Illinois’ Abria Smith.
“There was a ton of emotions. I’ve won before indoor. It’s taken awhile to get back to No. 1 again,” Lesnar told CSURams.com.
Mya Lesnar is a four-time first team All-American during her time in Fort Collins. Her dad was a UFC and WWE icon.
