CBI investigating human remains found near New Mexico border

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation into the discovery of human remains that were found by a citizen in Wild Horse Mesa on Monday, according to a release from the agency on Thursday.
The location is around 10 to 15 miles from the New Mexico-Colorado border in Costilla County, according to a representative for the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The investigation has not been linked to any others at this time.
The victim has not been identified and a cause of death has not been determined, according to the release.
