Denver weather: More afternoon rains possible to close out work week
More rounds of afternoon rain and thunderstorms are possible Friday across metro Denver, but the highest threat of storms will be in the high country west of town.
Denverites can expect a slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South southwest winds between 6 to 11 mph become west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Tonight, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. West wind between 5 to 10 mph becomes south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
More rain chances on Saturday start the weekend, however, only a slight chance on showers is forecast on Sunday. High temperatures remain pleasant too, with upper 70s popping off around the metro area.
Drying out starts Monday overall with high temperatures forecast into the low 80s.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers before noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. West southwest wind around 6 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 82.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
