Broncos elevate ILB Garret Wallow, FB Adam Prentice from practice squad vs. Colts

The Broncos elevated inside linebacker Garret Wallow and fullback Adam Prentice, who played at Colorado State, ahead of their Week 2 road game against the Colts, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.

The Broncos are thin at inside linebacker with free agent signing Dre Greenlaw inactive for a second game due to a quad injury. The positive spin is that Greenlaw returned to limited practice participation on Friday, possibly clearing the way for his Broncos debut in Week 3 at the Chargers.

The Broncos signed Wallow to the practice squad as a late addition to training camp. He has significant special teams experience in previous stints with the Texans and Titans. Inside linebacker Lavelle Bailey was elevated in Denver’s season-opening home win over the Titans. He played 10 special teams snaps.

Prentice has been elevated from the practice squad in consecutive weeks. Players must be signed to the team after a third elevation from the practice squad.

Prentice also joined the team in training camp. He is Denver’s only available fullback with Michael Burton (hamstring) on injured reserve and Nate Adkins (ankle) making his way back from surgery. Adkins is trending in the right direction as a limited practice participant on Friday.

Prentice, who played collegiately for CSU and South Carolina, made his Broncos debut against the Titans. He appeared on 15 offensive plays and eight special teams snaps. Prentice has familiarity with coach Sean Payton’s system after playing 48 games for the Saints (2021-24).

The Colts host the Broncos at 2:05 p.m. (MDT) Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
