Arvada man arrested after body found in box, police say
The Arvada Police Department arrested a 41-year-old man in connection to a woman’s body found inside of a box next to a dumpster.
Daniel Ryan Clark was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of tampering with a deceased body, abuse of a corpse and tampering of physical evidence after a 29-year-old woman’s body was found on Monday, according to a news release from the department.
Police initially responded to the Perch Apartments — located at 7791 W. 52nd Ave. — around 8 a.m. Thursday after a member of the maintenance team contacted police. The maintenance person had discovered the body inside of a black box next to a trash dumpster within an enclosure, police said.
Investigators then interviewed Clark and executed a search warrant, eventually leading to Clark’s arrest.
Clark is currently being held on a $20,000 cash bond and is due in court on Sept. 25 for a filing of charges. The identification of the woman will be released by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family and an autopsy.
While Clark was not arrested in suspicion of murder, the police department said a murder investigation is “within the scope.”
