Parking just got 25% more expensive for all-day skiers at popular Colorado resort

Those headed to Vail Resort for a day of skiing this winter will need to budget a bit more money for parking, at least if they’re planning to leave their vehicle in one of the Town of Vail’s parking lots for the full ski day.

Per reporting from Jonathan Ingraham of the Denver Gazette, the town council approved a switch to charge parkers $10 per hour for up to five hours on peak days, above the four-hour threshold that was in effect last year. This means that all-day skiers or snowboarders leaving their vehicle in a town lot on peak days will pay up to $50 daily opposed to $40 of the 2024-25 season.

Additionally, those visiting on non-peak days will be paying more, too – $10 per hour up to $30 per day. Last year, only those staying more than four hours paid $30.

Vehicles that stay overnight in one of the lots will still pay a fee of $60.

Officials are hopeful the two key changes will help to raise an additional $400,000 needed for maintenance and repairs on parking infrastructure.
