One dead in head-on, three car crash in Brighton Tuesday night
A 48-year-old man died and a 5-year-old boy was injured after their car collided head-on with another vehicle in Brighton Tuesday night.
Police first responded to the call of a three-car crash near the intersection of East 120th Avenue and Sable Boulevard around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Colorado State Patrol said in a news release. The crash involved a 2017 GMC Sierra, a 2017 Ford Escape and a 2021 Jeep Cherokee.
The initial information indicates that the GMC Sierra was driving westbound on East 120th Avenue when it hit the rear end of the Ford Escape before colliding head-on with the eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the release. The man was driving the Sierra and the boy was a passenger at the time of the crash.
Also injured in the crash were a 48-year-old male driver and 44-year-old female passenger of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, both of whom were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, according to the release. The 24-year-old female driver of the Ford Escape was not injured in the crash.
The identity of the GMC’s driver will be released by the Adamas County Coroner after the family is notified.
The cause of the crash is undetermined at this time.
