Mesa County authorities investigate deadly Halloween house party shooting
Mesa County authorities are investigating what led to a shooting that left two people dead at house party in Clifton late Friday night.
As of Sunday, authorities in the western Colorado town, located just east of Grand Junction, are still looking for one or more suspects responsible for the shooting.
At 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived to a home on the 400 block of Cottonwood Lake Drive. There, deputies found two people suffering from severe bodily injuries, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
After lifesaving efforts by first responders, the two victims were transported to the hospital, where they later died, authorities said.
Sheriff’s office officials said the shooting unfolded during a house party at the address, where a suspect or suspects fired multiple rounds.
Authorities are investigating the shooting as a double homicide.
