Person shot in head after suspected Morrison road rage incident
A person was shot in the head during an apparent road rage incident on Highway 285 in Morrison Tuesday evening.
The victim, shot near the intersection with Sourdough Drive, underwent emergency surgery Tuesday night and is currently in stable condition, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday. The suspect, driving what witnesses described as a light-colored Subaru, remains at large.
The shooting took place around 7 p.m. Tuesday and closed the southbound direction of the highway at Sourdough Drive, according to previous social media posts from the JCSO.
All traffic in that direction was turned around or diverted while authorities investigated the shooting, police said. Authorities said the roadway had reopened in a later post at 11:44 p.m.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dash camera footage from the area around that time to contact the investigations tip line at (303) 271-5612 or via email at jcsocrimetips@jeffco.us.
