Weekend Things To Do Around Denver and Beyond: Mile High Holiday Mart and more

FRIDAY-SUNDAY

The holiday comes alive in a very special way for year 46 of the Junior League of Denver’s iconic Mile High Holiday Mart in Gates Field House on the University of Denver campus, 2201 E. Asbury St. League members chose holiday-gift products by local and national merchants for their largest fundraiser of the year supporting community and league projects. Mart hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission $10 but free with a donation of a new toy for the League’s Denver Santa Claus Shop founded in 1931. If it’s time for snow season it’s time for Warren Miller.  Five showings of Warren Miller’s Sno-society are Thursday to Saturday at Boulder Theater. In a Swiftie world where little ones of all ages know her popular music, here’s a Sunday morning music education class for them to learn more of the music of classic rock artists including Phish during The Rock and Roll Playhouse. To protect little ears, the sound will be lower than regular concert level. An excellent, and easy, way to make holiday gift donations to five local and two global nonprofits, Giving Machine Denver has special vending machines starting this weekend through the Jan 4. While you’re out shopping or checking out holiday lights, you can deposit donations at Cherry Creek North’s Fillmore Plaza, 105 Fillmore St. Local recipients are The Action Center supporting West Denver Metro families, Colorado National Guard Foundation supporting soldiers and airmen, WeeCycle for families in need with babies, Project C.U.R.E. and African Community Center of Denver.  givingmachinedenver.org
