Lionel Messi, Inter Miami scheduled to come to Colorado in April 2026

Will Colorado host the great Lionel Messi in 2026?

The Rapids open the season at Seattle on Sunday, Feb. 22, and conclude it Saturday, Nov. 7, at Dallas, according to their schedule released Thursday.

Inter Miami FC, Messi’s team, is scheduled to play at Colorado on Saturday, April 18. It’s uncertain if that match would be hosted at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, where the Rapids play their home games, or Empower Field at Mile High, where more tickets would be sold.

The 38-year-old Messi has not played an MLS game in Colorado. He signed in October a multi-year extension with Inter Miami FC. The Rapids also will host their 30th anniversary as part of the Inter Miami match.

There is a two-month break in the MLS season from late May through late July for the World Cup. Colorado’s first home game is Saturday, Feb. 28, against the Portland Timbers.
