Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon out extended time with hamstring strain

All David Adelman is going to want for Christmas is a healthy starting five.

Starting power forward Aaron Gordon strained his right hamstring in Friday’s win over the Rockets, the team announced Sunday morning. He will be reevaluated in four to six weeks.

Two-way player Spencer Jones started in Gordon’s place Saturday night, while Zeke Nnaji got the start Wednesday in New Orleans, a game Gordon missed due to bilateral hamstring injury management.

The 30-year-old was averaging 18.8 points and 5.9 rebounds over his first 13 games of the season.

Gordon’s injury likely leaves Denver down two starters through Christmas, as Christian Braun is on a similar timeline after spraining an ankle.
