I-25 northbound closed near Loveland after fatal four-vehicle crash
Interstate 25 northbound is closed east of Loveland after a four-vehicle crash turned fatal, authorities said Tuesday afternoon.
Around 12:27 p.m., a box truck, a 2018 Lexus, a 2022 Kia and a 2006 Chevrolet hauling a trailer collided with one another after a separate vehicle pulled to the side of the road in a medical incident, according to a Tuesday news release from Colorado State Patrol.
One minor in the Lexus was pronounced dead on the scene; two adults and another minor were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the release. Those in the Kia and the pickup truck did not report any injuries and the box truck driver is still being assessed.
The interstate will remain closed northbound at Crossroads Boulevard throughout the afternoon as crews respond to the scene, according to the release. Drivers will be detoured onto the boulevard until the scene is cleared.
Authorities do not know the cause of the crash at this time.
