NEW WORLD RECORD: 2,489-foot-long shotski used for historic feat in Breckenridge
On Thursday afternoon, attendees of Breckenridge’s Ullr Fest again broke the record for the ‘world’s longest shotski,’ snatching the crown from Park City in what has become a back-and-forth competition between the two mountain towns.

In October, Park City set a new record with a shotski that included 1,410 shots. Participants at this year’s Ullr Fest event bested that record by 10.
In total, 1,420 people participated in the Breckenridge event, with the crowd utilizing 507 skis stretching 2,489 feet in length on Main Street to take a shots of Breckenridge Distillery’s ‘Mountain Shot‘ product in unison. Mountain Shot is described as a 69-proof mushroom-infused whiskey that has an earthy profile alongside flavors of chocolate and mint.
The Ullr Fest event takes place from December 18 through December 20, described as a “celebration of all things snow,” during which “winter worshippers donning Viking helmets take over downtown Breckenridge with a rowdy parade and ski-town shenanigans to pay homage to Ullr – the Norse god of snow – in hopes that he will bless the town with a powder-filled ski season.”
