Denver pedestrian dies from injuries in NYE hit-and-run crash

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in the final hour of 2025 has died from their injuries, Denver police said Friday.

The pedestrian was struck by a gray or silver sedan in 1200 block of South Federal Boulevard around 11:05 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

Police on Friday released a grainy photo of the suspect vehicle which was driving south when it hit the pedestrian as they crossed Federal Boulevard.

“The suspect vehicle may have minor to moderate damage on the passenger side front of the vehicle,” police said in a news release.

The driver of the sedan drove off without stopping to help or leave information, police said.

The pedestrian’s identity was not immediately released.

Anyone with any information about the crime is urged to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $2,000.
