Three-alarm fire prompts evacuation order in Glendale

DENVER — Crews are responding to a three-alarm fire at a construction site in Denver that has prompted evacuation alerts Friday night.

The Denver Fire Department said the fire near Leetsdale Drive and South Holly Street was reported at around 7 p.m. Friday. The fire department said the fire is in a building under construction.

It’s not clear whether construction workers were present when the fire started, Denver Fire said. The agency said in a post that no injuries had been reported.

A 9NEWS crew nearby received evacuation alerts on their phones.

According to the Wireless Emergency Alert system, the evacuation area covers 20 residential blocks in Denver, as well as additional areas with multi-family homes.

The alerts ordering people to evacuate were reportedly issued just before 7:20 p.m.
