It’s time to credit Nuggets coach David Adelman | The Starting Lineup

Turn on the game!

Three must-see events this week:

1. Super Bowl LX (4:30 p.m. Sunday, NBC) — Will the Seahawks and Patriots deliver after the most boring Super Bowl week in recent memory?

2. Cleveland Cavaliers at Nuggets (7 p.m. Monday, Altitude) — The Nuggets must make sure new Cavs guard James Harden stays away from Christian Braun’s ankle.

3. U.S. women’s hockey vs. Canada (12:10 p.m. Tuesday, USA) — One of the best rivalries in sports is in the preliminary round with seeding on the line.

Numbers game

15.9% — The Avalanche’s power-play percentage ranks 28th in the NHL, an unbelievable stat with this much Olympic-caliber talent on the roster

Box office

$30 — Spend Valentine’s Day in Fort Collins watching the Rams and Cowboys show no love in the hoops Border War. Tickets available at CSURams.com

On this day

Feb. 8, 2024 — Jamal Murray had his usual big game against the Lakers with 29 points and 11 assists, while Michael Porter Jr. chipped in 27 points and Nikola Jokic was one assist shy of a triple-double in a 114-106 road win

Final word

Nuggets coach David Adelman deserves more credit. In his first full season as coach, Adelman has the Nuggets sitting in third place in the ultra-competitive Western Conference while dealing with major injuries to all of his stars except Murray. He needs to be in the Coach of the Year conversation.
