The Broncos are visualizing their new stadium at Burnham Yard.  

The team is partnering with local officials to host a second community open house between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the La Alma Recreation Center. The public event is part of a large development review process to develop the historic rail yard south of Colfax Avenue and east of Interstate 25 into a sports and entertainment district.  

The Broncos will unveil “preliminary concepts for the proposed new stadium and mixed-use community at Burnham Yard,” according to a news release. The team hosted its first open house event in November to gain initial community feedback about the privately funded stadium at Burnham Yard.  

Attendees on Thursday will have the opportunity to ask questions, participate in live polling and give direct feedback. Broncos team president Damani Leech and other members of the organization will give an overview of the development process and host a Q&A session with the public. Other local officials will also be in attendance to answer questions. 

The Broncos plan to begin stadium construction in late 2027. The proposed retractable-roof stadium is scheduled to open in 2031. It opens the door for Denver to host its first Super Bowl in 2033 or beyond. 

“The feedback (has been) lots of questions and lots of interest. We’re listening. That is what this period is about, taking in that input and thinking how that is going to impact what our plans are as we come up with a community benefits agreement,” Broncos controlling owner Greg Penner said last month. “There are also lots of conversations with city council members. We think that we will create something that is going to be special for the city of Denver and the state of Colorado.

“We also understand that when you take on a project of this scale, there is going to be a lot of different opinions, and we have to take those in and then come up with the right solution.”
