RTD launches new online newsroom for transit updates and community stories

The Regional Transportation District launched a redesigned newsroom on Monday, making it simpler for customers, media outlets and stakeholders to find official announcements, project details and related content in one location.

The updated site consolidates what was previously spread across multiple pages into a single, mobile-friendly location, according to a news release. Visitors can now access the latest agency news, original videos, community-focused stories and social media links without navigating separate sections.

“The purpose of News Stop is to improve access to must-know, should-know, and nice-to-know information,” said RTD’s Stuart Summers, chief communications and engagement officer, in the release. “As the needs of the Denver metro area continually evolve and change, we want to make it even easier to find information about our services, receive project updates, and learn about our priorities.

“Today’s redesigned and relaunched News Stop site ensures the communities we serve are better connected to the agency,” Summers added.

The redesign supports the Customer Experience and Transit Utilization Action Plan the agency announced in November 2025, according to the release. That plan outlines steps to enhance service delivery, communication and customer connections.

The News Stop update also aligns with the agency’s broader Strategic Plan and Annual Scorecard by improving how information reaches riders throughout their transit experience, according to the release.

Key elements include a searchable archive of news releases and announcements, stories and videos highlighting major projects and safety initiatives, links to the agency’s social media channels, downloadable photos and resources for media and community partners, and direct contact details for media relations, the agency said in the release.

A drop-down menu at the top lets visitors translate into 10 languages.

RTD said customers, stakeholders and media are encouraged to visit the site and subscribe to RTD newsletters such as the monthly Read-n-Ride and quarterly Community Connections for ongoing project and service updates.

The redesigned News Stop is available at rtd-denver.com/community/news.
