Fatal crash in Boulder Canyon prompts Highway 119 closure
A highway crash in Boulder left one person dead and another hospitalized.
The crash happened at about 9:23 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol. The head-on collision happened on Boulder Canyon Drive at Chapman Drive and has left both directions of Highway 119 closed.
A 76-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver, an 83-year-old, was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route as police investigate the crash.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Boulder County coroner, police said.
