Colorado race makes list of best 5Ks in the US
The 5K is the most popular race in the U.S., according to USA Today, with nearly 9 million participants every year.
USA Today 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program that highlights the best in destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. An expert panel nominates their top picks in each category and readers vote to determine the ten winners.
The Boulderthon Heart to Heart 5K took sixth place on USA Today’s list of the ten best 5Ks in the country. Located in Boulder, the race is an all-roads course that takes runners through the city’s historic downtown, finishing on the iconic Pearl Street Mall. According to USA Today, previous Boulderthon events have drawn over 15,000 participants from every state and 18 countries.
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom 5K in Washington, D.C. took first place as the best 5K race in the U.S.
