Mountain town bluegrass fest set to feature lakeside views of fall foliage

The FreeFall Bluegrass Festival will take place at Nottingham Park in Avon this Oct. 9-11.

“We are thrilled to move FreeFall to the breathtaking Nottingham Park in Avon this fall,” said Diane Moudy, the festival’s event producer. “The space hosts a built-in stage with views of Nottingham Lake and the fall foliage of Beaver Creek Mountain all within walking distance of world-class hotels and restaurants. The move to a more central location in the valley was the right decision not just logistically but venue-wise we will be able to grow for years to come and really take FreeFall to the next level.”

This year, the festival will be ticketed and also include an elevated VIP experience. Tickets for three day general admission will be $90, with the three-day VIP pass costing $299.

Tickets will go on sale on April 15 at 10 a.m.

The festival kicks of at 2 p.m. on Friday, with music starting on the main stage at 2:30 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday with music beginning at 11:30 a.m. Music continues until 9 p.m. every night.

Located in the small mountain town of Avon, which is along the I-70 mountain corridor near Beaver Creek and Vail, Nottingham Park hosts a variety of live music and family-oriented events throughout the year. It’s also an accessible and step-free location.
