Man charged in connection to March homicide in Thornton
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office officially charged a 25-year-old man in connection to a fatal stabbing.
Zamien Rivas now faces a single first-degree murder charge following the death of a 29-year-old man on March 25, according to a Thursday news release from the district attorney’s office.
Thornton Police Department officers responded to the intersection of East 88th Avenue and Grant Street after someone reported finding a man bleeding in the street, according to a social media post by the department April 3.
Officers found the victim and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Adams County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim following an autopsy and notification of family.
Rivas was arrested April 2 and booked into the Adams County Jail.
Rivas is scheduled to appear in the Adams County District Court on May 13 for a setting hearing.
