Wheat Ridge police rescue ducklings from storm drain
Talk about some lucky ducks.
The Wheat Ridge Police Department said it acted fast to save nearly a dozen ducklings that had fallen down into a storm drain on Wednesday.
Officers were alerted to the situation by neighbors who had been able to rescue a couple of the ducklings, but then reached out for help to get the rest out.
Wheat Ridge police posted body cam footage of the rescue on their social media accounts Thursday.
Officers were able to work with West Metro Fire to scoop out seven more ducklings.
“Thanks to quick thinking and a lot of care, every duckling made it out safely!” Wheat Ridge police said.
