JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened near C-470 after a crash Wednesday morning on the west side of the Denver metro area.
Just after 2 a.m., a fuel tanker rolled over on Interstate 70 at about mile marker 258, according to Foothills Fire Rescue. The fuel tanker was traveling westbound on I-70 when it went off the right side of the road and rolled onto the passenger side, according to Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
The driver of the tanker, a 27-year-old man from Denver, was able to get out of the truck on his own and reported no injuries from the crash, CSP said.
The tanker did leak about 200 gallons of fluid that hazmat crews are cleaning up, according to Foothills Fire.
