GoPro Mountain Games in Vail
What: The town of Vail goes crazy with a weekend packed with sports, art, music, and everything ColoRADo. Watch more than 35 athletic competitions from kayaking to mountain biking, yoga or climbing and even dog athletic events. With an outdoor gear market packed with swag bags and other fun goodies to take home, live music, a drone show and plenty of space for the kids to run around, its an outdoor enthusiast’s dream family weekend.

FRIDAY
Greek Festival Denver
What: Arrive hungry and leave happy from the Greek Festival in Denver. Everyone’s Greek this weekend for a festival that supports charitable missions while celebrating culture and heritage through food, music, dancing and arts. Watch traditional Greek dancing performances or join in on one yourself. There are also cooking demonstrations, craft vendors, cathedral tours and activities for the kids.

Denver Tattoo Festival
What: Life’s too short not to get a tattoo, or at least see what the tattoo world is all about. This festival brings zero chill with booths filled with artists ready to give you just a little pinch. Even if you aren’t looking to get a tattoo on the spot, there will be demonstrations, art inspiration, tattoo contests, kids’ activities (including press-on tats), live music, circus or sideshow entertainers and more. Getting your first tattoo is easy; whether you want an experienced artist or someone up-and-coming, there will be plenty of art to choose from.

Denver Chalk Art Festival
What: Denver gets dusted in color this weekend for the annual Chalk Art Festival. More than 200 artists will showcase their chalk art, from iconic Denver scenes and figures to realistic animals popping out of the pavement and even portraits that could rival the Mona Lisa. Start your morning with Yoga Social at the Chalk art festival and get a zen experience with the art, or go later in the day for live music, food trucks and fun with the whole family.

Telluride Balloon Festival
What: Balloons floating against the backdrop of one of the last untouched towns in the Rocky Mountains. Escape to Telluride for a truly unforgettable weekend in the box canyon as colorful balloons paint the skies. Enjoy the balloon festival from the park with jaw-dropping mountain views, or for a unique experience, take the free gondola to the San Sophia Overlook and hike down the mountain. Swallow Hill Music’s Indiewood Street Festival
What: Don’t sleep on this music festival for discovering your new favorite artist. This year’s lineup includes The Animeros, Frail Talk, The Cooked Rugs and Bluebook, bringing together soft guitar strums and sweet harmonies to Englewood. With food trucks, local brews and shopping from local artists, it’s a great way to discover new music, enjoy an outdoor concert, and support small, local businesses and musicians all in one go. You might even discover someone before they ‘get big.’

Park Hill Art Festival
What: Find something unique and handmade to hang in your home and feel good about shopping local. The Art festival features artwork from oil pastels, to sketches, to paintings, stained glass art, metalwork jewelry, and paper collages. Many of the local artisans draw inspiration from local scenes and Colorado culture, making it easy to find decor to amplify your place in the Mile High City. Shop at one of the over 100 artisans, meet the artists, and enjoy live music in one of Denver’s most iconic neighborhoods.

SUNDAY
Paws with Pride
What: Who let the dawgs out? This Pride event is fetching and fierce with a doggy drag show costume contest. There are contests, like a “Doogies Through the Decades” category, sporty puppies, celebrity impersonations, a puppy pride contest with rainbow-themed costumes and a best runway walk so your dog can feel paw-sitively fabulous. The show takes place at Union Station, so your pup can strut their stuff around the city and show off their ‘Best in Show’ accolades.

Plates & Purpose Culinary Challenge at Stranahan’s Distillery
What: Bringing the heat of a cooking competition to Denver for a good cause, the Plates & Purpose Culinary Challenge is headlined by Michelin and James Beard-recognized pitmaster Chef Daniel Castillo. The night features a live cooking competition with an emphasis on award-winning BBQ and craft cocktails. Hosted by Great Deeds Foundation, the event aims to raise money to support emerging chefs and culinary entrepreneurs.

The Steamboat Marathon

Film on the Rocks
What: Look, see? A movie set in the amphitheater of insanity! The Film on the Rocks season kicks off with a showing of “The Princess Bride,” a romantic, comedic classic set in the kingdom of Florin. Make sure to bring an extra cozy blanket to snuggle up under and your favorite movie snacks in a clear bag no larger than 13” x 15” x 8.” The movie showing also includes a pre-show performance by School of Rock, so you can get the full Red Rocks Experience.
