‘America’s largest vanlife fest’ to make its Colorado debut
An event billed as ‘America’s largest vanlife festival’ is set to make its Rocky Mountain debut in the area of Rye, Colorado.
Described by organizers as “a 1960s-inspired utopian van village,” the ‘Peace Love & Vans’ festival will take place at Hummingbird Ranch from June 12 through June 15. The event is expected to feature more than 600 custom vans and alternative rigs, along with expert-led workshops, a DIY ‘van build’ contest, yoga, food trucks, community activities, a tiki bar, and plenty of live music. Organizers expect at least 1,000 attendees to show up.
“From remote working digital nomads, to outdoor adventurers, to retirees, to those looking for more affordable housing alternatives…vanlife speaks to a lot of different people from all walks of life,” said Josh Theberge, co-founder of the event and an early vanlife pioneer. “It’s something that brings a diverse group of people together through an interest in something that appeals to them for several different reasons.”
It’s also worth noting that there’s no sort of ‘van requirement’ for attendance. From car campers to RV travelers to the ‘vanlife curious,’ all are welcome.
“If you’re curious about camper vans or tiny living, this will be the best opportunity on earth to see and tour so many of them in one place,” said Zach Daudert, the event’s other co-founder.
Day passes cost $10 and weekend camping passes range from $89 to $179 with camping expected to sell out soon.
