White water rafting offers an exhilarating experience filled with waves and stunning scenery that surrounds the rivers.

USA Today recently published its list of the ten best rafting tours in the U.S., and one Colorado outfitter made the list.

USA Today 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program that highlights the best in the country’s destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. An expert panel nominates their top picks in each category and readers vote to select the ten winners.

Wilderness Aware Rafting took eighth place on the list. The company is based in Buena Vista, but leads trips on five rivers in Colorado, including the popular Arkansas River. According to USA Today, trips range from being half-day excursions to ten-day long adventures that include equipment and meals.

Northwest Rafting Company in Hood River, Oregon took first place.
