Storm impacts force closures on popular canyon routes

North Cheyenne Canyon Road and Gold Camp Road in North Cheyenne Canon Park are closed because of storm impacts from last night, according to Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.

According to a Facebook post from Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, large amounts of scree and debris have been moved onto North Cheyenne Canyon Road and storm-related road damage has been identified on Gold Camp Road.

Crews are assessing conditions and working on clearing the affected areas. There is no estimated timeline for reopening. Colorado Springs asks the public to respect all closures and avoid the area while crews work.
