Cole Carrigg to make MLB debut for Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs on Tuesday

The Rockies on Tuesday called up Carrigg, the organization’s No. 6-ranked prospect, according to Baseball Pipeline. The 24-year-old Carrigg was scheduled to make his MLB debut Tuesday night in center field against the Chicago Cubs at Coors Field.

Carrigg recently was named player of the month for May in the Pacific Coast League. He slashed .338/.414/.529 with 15 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 42 RBIs in 57 games for Triple-A Albuquerque. Known for his speed, the Modesto, Calif., native has 30 stolen bases in 37 attempts. He recently played for Israel in the World Baseball Classic.
The Rockies also brought up right-handed pitcher Jeff Criswell from Albuquerque. Criswell is coming off Tommy John surgery. Tyler Freeman was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list after being hit by a pitch, while Keegan Thompson was designated for assignment.
