19-year-old killed in motorcycle crash on U.S. 285
A 19-year-old died Sunday after a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 285 north of Aspen Park, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash on the southbound side of the highway at milepost 241, according to authorities.
A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle struck a cable rail.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will be released by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office after next of kin have been notified, and an autopsy has been performed.
The CSP’s Vehicular Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. A cause has not yet been determined.
