7 waterfalls to see in Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) has a variety of stunning waterfalls ranging from easy, family-friendly strolls to more challenging backcountry hikes.

Here are seven beautiful waterfalls to visit in RMNP:

1. Alberta Falls

The hike to this waterfall is only 1.7 miles, according to All Trails. Hikers will take off from the Glacier Gorge Junction trailhead and enjoy the stunning views on the trek up to the waterfall.

2. Ouzel Falls

Hikers will walk along a path by the side of North Saint Vrain Creek through the forests of Wild Basin. The route is 5.4 miles and passes by Calypso Cascades before reaching Ouzel Falls.

3. Chasm Falls

Chasm Falls is accessible via a quick walk that is 0.1 miles from a pullout on Old Fall River Road. Visitors also have the chance to hike or bike 2.2 miles round trip from the winter gate.

4. Adams Falls

This is another short hike of 0.8 miles to see Adams Falls. According to All Trails, the East Inlet feeds Adams Falls as it falls over a rocky cliff.

5. Fern Falls

At 5.1 miles, this is a more moderate hike that leads to the stunning Fern Falls. Part of the trail follows the Big Thompson River.

6. Timberline Falls

This waterfall can be accessed by the Glacier Gorge Loop, which is 10.2 miles. According to All Trails, the hike includes waterfall scrambling that requires climbing slippery rocks, so this is a good choice if you’re looking for something more challenging.

7. Copeland Falls

Visitors can hike to Copeland Falls via the Wild Basin Trailhead, and it’s only 0.3 miles, making it another great family friendly hike.
