Winter Park Resort sets tentative opening date for 2020-2021 winter season
Winter Park Ski Resort announced that it will open this week — on Dec. 3 — pending state approval.
Officials said that after some fortunate natural snowfall and snow-making efforts throughout November the resort is ready to have skiers and riders back hit the slopes.
“We’re stoked to open for the winter season and welcome skiers, riders and adventurers to play, reset, and recharge,” said Sky Foulkes, president and COO of Winter Park Resort in a media release. “We’ve planned, anticipated and prepared for our winter opening since launching our successful summer operations. We couldn’t be more excited to kick off winter and venture out again.”
Earlier this month the resort in Grand County released COVID-19 guidelines to continue giving skiers and riders the opportunity to “Shred Another Day”

Within those guidelines officials are requiring resort-goers to pre-purchase passes, rentals lodging and lessons.
Other recommendations and requirements made by Winter Park Resort officials including avoiding peak days such as Saturday’s and the week after Christmas, all resort-goers must wear masks and practice social distancing and staying only with the group you came with.
“The focus will be all about the skiing and riding experience itself and tapping into the real and unvarnished Colorado mountain culture. At the end of the day, we all just want to keep carving down the mountain and finding joy in the outdoors,” said Liz Agostin, marketing director for Winter Park Resort in an earlier news release.
