Cyclist dead after collision with SUV in Boulder County

Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that took place in Boulder County, leaving a cyclist dead.

According to an official report about the situation, the wreck occurred at about 7:41 p.m. on September 26 in the area of Highway 287 and Boulder County Road 4. This is north of Longmont, with County Road 4 in the area of Terry Lake.

The crash involved a bicyclist described as Hispanic and in his mid-20s and a Honda SUV driven by a 50-year-old male. While the cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene, the SUV driver was uninjured. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene of the crash.

A cause in the crash is yet to be determined. The crash resulted in a temporary road closure, but roads have since reopened.
