Denver weather: Stormy conditions possible Tuesday, but small threat forecast

Stormy weather Tuesday is possible, but should not be as intense as Monday’s afternoon rain showers were across metro Denver.
Yesterday, 0.36 inches of rain was recorded at the Jefferson County Court building in Golden from a heavy downpour that blew off the foothills around 3:30 p.m., and lasted approximately 15 minutes.
Today, Denver residents can expect a slight chance of showers between noon and 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be sunny otherwise, with a high near 79. South southwest winds around 6 mph become calm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight it’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 52. North wind around 6 mph becomes light and variable overnight.
However, the wait for warm and dry weather is short as temperatures climb back into the 80s from the middle of the week to the end of the week.
Unsettled conditions are lurking around for the weekend, with a cool down and more rain forecast across Denver and the Front Range.
Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. South southwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 84. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 85.
Saturday: A chance of showers, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 76.
