ACC partners with School of Mines on new student pipeline | Class Notes
A new higher-education partnership means engineering students at Arapahoe Community College (ACC) can earn a bachelor’s degree at the Colorado School of Mines.
Qualified ACC students can complete the majority of their core curriculum at ACC while pursuing an Associate of Engineering Sciences degree at Mines. Credits directly transfer for bachelor’s degree programs at Mines.

The partnership allows for a smooth transition between the two schools.
“With the launch of the Mines Academy at Arapahoe Community College, we’ve created a clear path for students from ACC to join our Oredigger community and ultimately earn a Mines degree,” Paul C. Johnson, president of Colorado School of Mines, said in a statement. “I like the Mines Academy model because it provides students with the confidence, clarity and connection they need to reach and succeed at Mines and beyond in their professional careers.”
Founded in 1874 in Golden, the Colorado School of Mines is a top-ranked public research university focused on engineering and applied science in energy, minerals and materials.
Moreover, students with guaranteed admission into Mines, will receive additional academic support at ACC.
ACC President Stephanie J. Fujii praised the new program for its “innovative partnership.”
“In addition to providing a seamless and economical pathway to pursue a bachelor’s degree from Mines, this collaboration also facilitates opportunities for ACC students to engage with academic peers in the Mines and engineering communities,” Jennifer Jones, ACC Natural Sciences Department Chair, said in a press release.
