Broncos QB Bo Nix earns consecutive NFL Rookie of the Week honors
Nix won award for performances against Chiefs, Falcons
ENGLEWOOD — Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has been named Rookie of the Week for a second consecutive time, the NFL announced on Thursday.
Nix threw for 307 yards on 28 of 33 completions, with four touchdowns last Sunday in a blowout home win over the Falcons. It followed a strong week 10 performance in a road loss at the Chiefs: 215 yards on 22-of-30 passing with two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception in either game.
Nix is the first Broncos player to earn multiple NFL Rookie of the Week awards in the same season since Tim Tebow in 2010. On Wednesday, Nix also garnered AFC Player of the Week honors.
Nix — who is entering a road test Sunday at the Raiders — leads all NFL rookies since the start of October with 151 completions, a 68.9 completion percentage; 1,615 yards passing; 13 passing touchdowns; and, a 106.3 passer rating.
