Denver weather: Highs peak in the mid-70s Friday ahead of a warm weekend
The high pressure that’s been blocking weather disturbances from breaking into Colorado remains, but is slowly moving southward, allowing for some clouds and cooler temperatures to enter the state Friday.
Denver residents can expect today mostly sunny skies, with a high near 75, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South southwest winds to blow around 6 mph, becoming light and variable into the afternoon.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 50. East winds around 6 mph become light and variable after sunset and overnight.
As one cold front passes, a warm up happens the next day, as will be the case on Saturday. Then back to cooler weather on Sunday.
Minimal warming returns heading into next week, but still dry and sunny as we begin the second full week of October.
Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 17 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming east northeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
