First Lady Jill Biden coming to Denver
First Lady Jill Biden will fly into Denver this week and speak at several events across the city.
Biden will arrive at 4:45 p.m. Friday at Denver International Airport, where she will be greeted by First Gentleman Marlon Reis.
“We are proud to welcome the First Lady to beautiful Colorado, and share how our state is the best place in the country to live, work, and thrive,” Reis said in a statement. “We look forward to showing Dr. Biden the spirit of Coloradans, including our commitment to saving people money, ensuring small businesses can thrive, preserving and protecting our environment, and building a Colorado for all.”
After Biden’s arrival, she is scheduled to attend a Democratic National Committee finance event at 5:30 p.m.
The following morning, the first lady will provide opening remarks at the White House Initiative Latino Economic Summit at the Community College of Denver and will be accompanied by the state’s Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera.
The summit will highlight “the thriving economic engine of Colorado’s Latino community” and the steps the state has taken to increase broadband internet access.
Later that evening, Biden and Gov. Jared Polis will speak at the annual Latin American Educational Foundation gala at the Fillmore Auditorium.
After leaving Colorado, Biden will continue on to California on Monday.
