1 arrested after fatal overnight shooting in Denver’s West Colfax neighborhood
A man is in custody in connection to a fatal shooting in west Denver on Friday night, according to the Denver Police Department.
Police said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. at West 16th Avenue and Irving Street in the city’s West Colfax neighborhood. Officials said the suspect and victim knew each other and the shooting happened after an argument.
Officers found a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died pronounced dead, according to the Denver Police Department.
Police said 20-year-old Vincent Tapia was arrested and is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.
