Family displaced, pet cat missing after fire destroys home in Boulder
Officials are investigating after a fire destroyed a Boulder County home Tuesday night, displacing the residents and possibly harming one of their pets, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said the fire started about 10:30 p.m. when a vehicle parked in the house’s garage burst into flames. The residents called 911 but, by the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already spread to the house.
All members of the family were safely evacuated; however, their pet cat is missing, deputies said.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out, but the house is believed to be a total loss, deputies said. The two-story house is valued at about $207,000.
A nearby RV camper, as well as two vehicles parked inside the house’s garage, were also badly damaged.
Responding personnel included the Mountain View Fire Department, Louisville Fire Department, Lafayette Fire Department and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. No first responders were injured during the incident.
The Agency Fire Investigative Team is investigating the cause of the fire.
