Adams County combines rapid COVID-19 testing sites into new Brighton location
Adams County opened a new, free COVID-19 rapid testing site Wednesday in Brighton’s Riverdale Regional Park, consolidating all previous rapid testing sites in the county.
The new testing site at 9755 Henderson Road will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until the end of March.
“Consolidating these sites into one location allows us to continue providing free rapid tests to Adams County residents in one consistent location with more than ample space,” said Adams County Commissioner Emma Pinter.
Registration is not required for the new testing site.
The county’s regular Water World testing site will also remain open through March, operating daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. This location strongly encourages registration, available online.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recommends people get tested for COVID-19 at least five days after suspected exposure or immediately if experiencing symptoms.
COVID-19 symptoms can appear two to 14 days after exposure and include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, sore throat and loss of taste or smell.
People who suspect they have been exposed to the virus should isolate themselves while they await test results.
Currently, experts estimate 1 in 40 Coloradans are contagious with the coronavirus.
Other COVID-19 community testing sites can be found online.
