Denver weather: Sunny and hot with record-breaking potential
The high temperatures appear to be here to stay in Colorado.
The National Weather Service said to expect a high of around 86 degrees in Denver on Thursday. Winds are forecasted to be moderately gusty.
The record high for May 14th in Denver is 87 degrees, set in 2013. This is the second day in a row that Denver is threatening to set a heat record.
Due to the high winds, heat and dry conditions, the weather service is taking caution with fire danger. It will continue to build as “Elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions each day through Friday.”
The weekend might offer some relief as cooler temperatures and potential rainfall are forecast.
Tonight, expect a low of around 50 degrees and for the winds to remain moderately gusty.
