Denver weather: Temperatures reach 80s before consistent rainfall this week

Tuesday might be the last dry day of the week for Denver and much of Colorado.

The National Weather Service said to expect a high of around 81 today with no precipitation and gusty winds up to 40 mph.

The dry conditions, high heat, and gusty winds mean elevated fire danger for much of the state. Residents are encouraged to remain fire-conscious throughout the day.

A steady wall of rain will make its way over to Denver this week, forecasters predict, with the largest totals on Wednesday. Continued storms and rainfall are forecasted throughout the week, though mostly scattered.

Tonight, expect a low of around 55 degrees, and for the wind to let up slightly but still gust up to 33 mph.
